Writing for Wellbeing? I'm your practitioner...

Image
Did you know I'm a writing for wellbeing practitioner, trained and mentored by the amazing people at Literature Wales?  My ethos?  Nurture - Explore - Connect - Live. My aim?  To help you improve and maintain good mental health and wellbeing so you can live your lives to the fullest, adopting strategies to help you move forwards. I've opened up my diary for bookings and am ready to work with you to deliver bespoke writing for wellbeing sessions specific to you or your participants' needs.  The exploratory nature of putting pen (or pencil) to paper can be a very powerful tool in helping us unlock our past, understand our feelings and emotions, and provide a doorway into our futures.  There is growing knowledge and understanding that taking part in the arts as a means of improving our mental health and wellbeing has a positive impact.  I have worked with diverse groups of participants, including primary and secondary aged children in school settings, ...

My Debut Book is Here - 'The Edge of Everything'

Hi everyone, It's been a while, and apologies for the radio silence here, but I've been working on something very special behind the scenes.  My debut book, 'The Edge of Everything', is to be published next week with The H'mm Foundation.  It's a pinch me moment for sure! I am a Nigel Jenkins Award Winner 2023!

Image
I am so incredibly happy to be able to share the news that I have been awarded the Nigel Jenkins Award for Creative Writing, in partnership with Swansea University MA programme and the H'mm Foundation, both of which the late great Nigel Jenkins helped to set up.  What an absolute honour it was to stand up at the book launch of Nigel's posthumous poetry anthology launch 'Wild Cherry' last week and read from my dissertation in front of a full gathering.  Next month I shall be awarded this prestigious trophy at another event in Swansea, the book launch of last year's winner Gaynor Funnell.  I am a humble, excitable bubble!  Image is used with thanks to Swansea University Cultural Institute.
